Indie Woven Shirt Pattern Roundup

Happy Monday friends!

One of my favorite things to sew is easy simple woven tee shirts. They’re basic, quick sews that also allow you to use an array of woven fabrics for pretty designs, colors and patterns. There are so many woven shirt patterns out there and what’s amazing is they’re all different in design and construction but still pretty simple to make.

I’ve done you the favor of rounding up some of the most popular (and some of my favorite) Indie woven shirt sewing patterns. Some are boxy, some are cropped, some have cuffs and some can be sewn with knits and wovens! Whats great about these types of patterns is they usually only use about 1-1/2 yards of fabric, can be hacked and added onto for customization to create different looks like dresses, peplum tops and are quick to make.

I hope this list gives you some amazing additions to your handmade wardrobe. Enjoy!

Indie Woven Shirt/Top Roundup

Strata Top by Sew Liberated

The Strata Top has a laid back flare to its design and can easily be thrown on over collared shirts and long sleeves tops for layering. Out a knot in the back for a fitted look or crop it for a summer vibe, any way you make it the Strata is a winner!

Scout Tee by Grainline Studios

The Scout Tee definitely has a feminine feel to its design. The subtle cap sleeve and fit make it easy to pair for casual looks or dressy styles.

Shirt No. 1 by 100 Acts of Sewing

Shirt No 1 is a basic tee giving you an easy sew and a simple throw on that can be worn with so many outfits.

Lou Box Top by Sew DIY

The Lou Box Top is a popular staple most already have in their pattern collection. It can be made using woven or knit fabrics and has an array or necklines, and length possibilities. It also has a sleeve expansion pack for added customization. You won’t regret putting this powerhouse in your pattern collection.

La Brea Tee by Halfmoon Atelier

The La Brea is definitely about the details. The neckline and topstitching on the sleeves all play a part in this feminine top’s adorable and easy look.

Cielo Top and Dress by Closet Case Patterns

The Cielo Top is a pattern I have personally made many times. It’s simple but detailed, boxy and comfortable and has such an easy fit. It’s definitely my favorite throw on top pattern. The pattern also includes longer dramatic sleeves and a dress.

Harvest Boxy Top by Peppermint Magazine

Easy to sew and fill of details this FREE PATTERN is a boxy sew that will definitely make a nice statement in your handmade wardrobe.

Penny Raglan by Grainline Studios

This pattern is intended for knits but I definitely believe it could be made from woven fabrics as well with some simple modifications. Laid back and easy, the Penny Raglan definitely offers a wonderful blank canvas of possibilities for customization and modifying.

Essential Shirt by Topstitch ATL

Who can forget the Essential Shirt. The length is what I love about this top, it’s the perfect tee to combine with jeans or tuck into a skirt and rock with a blazer. Either way it’s a sure staple.
